Hug a Farmer

Farmers are the most important people who contribute in each and everyone's life.We buy food, cotton cloths etc from shops which are produced by the farmers. Farmers contribute a lot in a countries economy. Most of the developed countries have a very strong agriculture background. Good farming helps the country to be self sufficient.

I would like to write about my uncle, who is a farmer from my native place in Kerala, India. His name is Madambath Muralidharan. My grandfather was a farmer and my uncle continued his legacy. My father was not interested in farming, so he migrated to Mumbai for work. My dad always told me that my uncle was very passionate about farming. He used to accompany my grandfather from his childhood days to the farm and he was very curious about small details. He has been a farmer for last 50 years. His farming includes horticulture and animal husbandry. He produces banana, coconut and some vegetables like bitter gourd, long beans, yellow and white pumpkin, red spinach etc. He also has some cows and ducks.

Now his eldest son Vignesh helps him in his farming. He is also the exact replica of his father when it comes to farming. He is very dedicated and hardworking. He also owns a dairy shop, where they sell the milk from their own cow.

My grandfather had paddy fields and coconut agriculture. But when my uncle took over from my him, he decided to start horticulture and animal husbandry because according to him paddy fields require a lot of effort and man power. Also paddy fields have some risk like rain droughts and other climatic conditions. Where as horticulture needs less effort compared to paddy fields. And cows and duck are very economically efficient. According to him they are the most profitable agriculture compared to any other agriculture. The only time he suffered some loss in duck farming was when there was a bird flu outbreak. Even then he was compensated by the government.

This was a very good experience for me because I always respected farmers and it was a good opportunity for me to share my uncle's noble profession to others.

Lamb chops : My favorite cut in lambs

Lamb Chops I'm a hardcore Non-vegetarian who likes to eat all types of meat available in market. When it comes to meat I like beef, pork, lambs, chicken etc, but lamb meat is my favorite. In lamb, the best part for me is lamb chops. I like cuts with bones because I think they have more flavor than boneless meat.                                                         Photo Credit : http://www.lindasitaliantable.com Lamb is sheep meat which is under one year old. Sheep is generally divided into three types : lambs. hogget and mutton. In this, lamb is the most expensive sheep. Lamb chops is the rib area of the lamb, which  is also known as lamb rack.                                                 Photo cr...
